RE: Is Jesus God?

I think that part of Jesus' character is that it's mysterious whether he's God or not. He *might have been,* but we aren't quite sure. The belief is that he was God coming to visit His people in disguise, not necessarily to prove that he was God, but to be close to us, and to shepherd us to salvation despite our past mistakes.

He's kind of like Moses, except for the whole world instead of just the Jewish people. He leads us out of slavery to sin, whereas Moses leads the Jewish people out of slavery in Egypt.

He dies on the cross so we will feel sorry for our sins and to inspire us to repent.
